About Evert Comer, Jr.
A Lifetime of Service:
Evert Comer, Jr. Committed to
Moving Bamberg County Forward.
For Evert Comer, Jr., public service is not a position—it’s a calling.
With decades of service as an attorney, pastor, educator, Army veteran, and public
servant, Comer has dedicated his life to helping others and strengthening the
community he calls home. From his early days serving on public boards to 12 years
on Bamberg County Council, his mission has remained the same: serve people and
build a better future.
When Comer first took office, Bamberg County was on the brink of financial collapse
facing the loss of its hospital, declining industry, and limited resources.
Through steady leadership and teamwork, those challenges were met head-on.

Today, Bamberg County stands on stronger ground:
-
Financial stability with an A credit rating, saving taxpayer dollars
-
Expanded broadband access connecting residents and businesses
-
A new fire station and improved emergency services
-
Infrastructure improvements, including attention to rural roads
-
Economic growth bringing businesses like Tractor Supply, Black Horse Steel,
-
and Gibbs International
Comer emphasizes that progress didn’t happen alone—it came through teamwork,
transparency, and commitment to the truth.
“Real progress happens when people work together,” Comer said. “No one person
can change everything—but together, we can move our county forward.”
He also acknowledges that tough decisions have been necessary, including limited
tax increases to support critical services like EMS. “No one wants to raise taxes,”
he said, “but every decision is made with the people in mind.”
With over 40 years as a practicing attorney, military service, and leadership in both
government and the church, Comer brings experience, stability, and a servant’s
heart to everything he does.

Now, he’s asking voters to continue that journey. “Now is not the time to start over,”
Comer said. “It’s time to stay the course, build on what we’ve started, and keep
moving forward with purpose and stability.”

-
Stand with proven leadership.
-
Stand with experience.
-
Stand for continued progress in Bamberg County.
